BREAKING : Nigeria Pulls Out Of World Economic Forum In SA, to 're-call' High Commissioner

Xenophobic attack in South Africa

Nigeria has pulled out of the ongoing World Economic Forum in Cape Town, South Africa, over fresh xenophobic attacks.

The country is also making plans to recall Kabiru Bala, its high commissioner to South Africa. A presidential source disclosed this to TheCable, saying the federal government is highly displeased over the attacks on Nigerians in that country.

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo was to represent Nigeria at the three-day forum ending on Friday. The source said the decisions were taken at a meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari, Osinbajo and Geoffrey Onyeama, minister of foreign affairs, at the presidential villa in Abuja.
