Recently, whatsapp introduced a new feature to their app, called ‘Status’ like that of Snapchat which lets you upload photo or video that will visible to your friends. This feature only lets view those media but can't be saved to your phone.
Below is a simple trick to save those medias.
1. Open your file manager
2. Press the “option” key then settings, check “view hidden files”
3. Go back to the file manager and scroll to the whatsapp folder.
4. Open “Media” folder
5. Usually, the first folder you should see is “statuses”
6. That folder contains all the viewed statuses over the 24 hours period.
7. Take note, they delete themselves automatically after 24 hours.
8. To save the viewed file to your phone permanently, move or copy it/them to another folder of your choice.
